Dr. Elizabeth Hutson
Gynecologist and Urogynecologist (FPMRS)
I have been attracted to beauty in form and function for a long time. I’m a very visual person, so external beauty became easy for me to appreciate. I’ve always loved the black and white pictures of classic beauties through the ages, like Audrey Hepburn, Lucille Ball, and Marilyn Monroe. Their confidence and beauty are truly portrayed through their photographs.
When I was in my 4th year of medical school, after declaring OB/GYN as my specialty, I did a Dermatology rotation and absolutely loved it. It was visual, life changing for patients, and had effective treatments that restored, maintained and enhanced people’s lives. I began to appreciate the effect and depth of beauty. The life changing effect of treating a teen with cystic acne all over his face, so that he could show up differently with a completely clear face – the impact is beautiful, and affects the mind, body and spirit.
In 2007, I decided to begin training to perform cosmetic vulvovaginal surgeries like labiaplasties and vaginoplasties. While I had done these procedures throughout my career, I did not yet appreciate the intricacies involved in making everything look natural and beautiful again down there. I had been more about function, and these became more about form AND function. I love performing these surgeries now because of the dramatic effect this has on my patients’ lives. It improves self-confidence, well-being, form and function – my patients show up differently because they feel beautiful in an area that was not, at least to them, perceived so before their surgery.
A dream practice, comes to light – My Women’s Center, encompasses the ability of providing excellent care in our patients’ Gynecology & Urology needs, as well as offers in-office vaginal rejuvenation and cosmetic gynecology procedures, and medical aesthetic treatments to assist women in empowering their true self-confidence.
Since I was in first grade, I have always wanted to be a doctor. I remember going to the Pediatrician’s office and after my appointment, he gave me a shiny penny and a stick of gum. Wow, I loved the way that made me feel, and right then, I knew I wanted to be a doctor and help people feel special. After 14 years of advanced education and training, I began my career in Obstetrics and Gynecology. I love the field of Women’s health and have grown and matured in my practice over the last 20 years. While I delivered babies for 4 years of my career, I have spent most of my career focusing on Gynecology, Urogynecology, and even Cosmetic Gynecology. I love learning and staying up-to-date on the most recent and effective advances in Women’s Health, to enable me to provide life-changing options to my patients, while never losing sight of my goal to help people feel special. Surrounding myself with a great team of professionals, in January of 2018, I opened my dream practice: MY WOMEN’S CENTER where we provide a variety of gynecologic and aesthetic services to help women recognize their beauty in form and function in a comfortable, caring and supportive environment.
Since opening My Women’s Center, I am focusing on minimally invasive surgery both in the operating room and in the office. I perform thousands of procedures each year using the best technology available, providing outstanding outcomes, and supporting the patients’ physical and emotional needs throughout the process. One of the most exciting recent developments in Women’s Health has been the Mona Lisa Touch Laser System for the treatment of vaginal atrophy and bladder dysfunction. I started using this treatment in 2015 and have been so wowed with the results! Not only can I see the improvement in the vaginal and vulvar skin, patients tell me about the improvement in their sexual and bladder function – “life changing, that’s for sure!” The part I love about this treatment is the effect it has on all areas of a women’s life. When we restore function to such an important part of a women’s body, they are able to show up differently…BEAUTIFULLY!
