What is Pellevé?
Pellevé is a Federal Drug Administration (FDA) approved laser treatment system designed to treat mild to moderate wrinkles in the face. Pellevé is a non-invasive treatment that requires no surgery, no incisions, and no recovery time. Treatments take less than an hour and patients can return to their daily routine immediately following treatment.
How does Pellevé treatment work?
First, a gel is smoothed over the treatment areas on your face. The gel is conductive, allowing the Pellevé device to work in the most efficient way. While you relax, the Pellevé wand is glided over the wrinkles. During the treatment process, many patients feel a warming sensation, much like a face massage. The warmth is an indicator that the laser is delivering radiofrequency energy deep into your facial tissues. This energy is what triggers your body to create new collagen, which then diminishes lines and wrinkles.
How many treatments are needed to get results?
This can vary from one patient to another. If wrinkles and lines are quite minor, one treatment may be sufficient. We generally recommend a treatment for every decade of age you are, for example, a 50-year-old patient would be recommended 5 treatments. Each treatment is scheduled around a month apart to allow time for collagen rebuilding to take place.
How long do the results of Pellevé last?
Most patients see continued wrinkle improvement for up to six months after the treatment. Treatments every six months are usually sufficient to continually maintain results.
What is PelleFirm?
PelleFirm is a treatment that uses radiofrequency energy to reduce the appearance of cellulite and tighten skin in areas like the buttocks, thighs, arms, and hips.
What is the PelleFirm treatment process like?
While you relax, the PelleFirm treatment is applied to the problem areas. Many patients describe a sensation of deep heat combined with a massage during the treatment. The PelleFirm wand has a massage head that prompts the body to release retained fluid. This, when combined with the deep stimulation of tissue for new collagen growth, results in smoother and firmer skin.
How many PelleFirm treatments are needed?
Results are often seen after just one treatment, but most patients opt for a series of treatments. With around six total treatments spaced a month apart, most patients get the optimal cellulite reduction results. After the treatments, touch-ups may be done a couple of times a year to maintain results.
What is the Morpheus8?
The Morpheus8 is the newly cleared FDA device that fractionally remodels and contours the face and body. Morpheus8 utilizes fractional radio-frequency (RF) technology within a microneedling device that punctures the skin at variable depths that can be pre-set. This subdermal treatment concentrates its energy into the most important part of the skin that is responsible for the textural irregularities, firmness, and elasticity.
How does the Morpheus8 work?
The Morpheus8 simultaneously uses tiny microneedles (smaller than the diameter of a hair) to deliver safe radio-frequency (RF) energy into the deeper layer of the skin where collagen and elastin fibers form support structures. The heat from the RF creates thermal zones beyond the actual reach of the needle, ultimately molding the fat subdermally and morphing the face and body parts into a more desired smooth and sleek appearance. The combination of the percutaneous and microneedling RF treatments leads to improved tightening and outcomes. This device is safe for all skin tones, with little risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation.
What is the downtime?
Morpheus8 is able to deliver energy where it’s needed most, in the lower dermis, while minimizing the damage to the skin’s surface. With little to no thermal damage to the dermis, this procedure has minimal downtime lasting between 24 to 48 hours before post-procedural redness subsides. Tiny brown dots at the entry site of the microneedles may last another 24 hours.
When can I expect to see results?
Morpheus8 treatments work by causing your skin to rebuild old and damaged cells, thus the results are not immediate. Improvements are typically noticed 6-8 weeks post-treatment. For significant results, 3 or more sessions about 4 weeks apart are recommended to see significant results. The number of sessions will depend on your aesthetic goals and will be customized in your individual treatment plan.
